In NEXUS compete with your Rival Citizen architects to score the highest points, scoring transparent BluPrints (conveying the needs of your citizens and the Board) and tricky endgame scoring opportunities, while avoiding the noxious Exclusion Zone! At the end of 12 rounds, the player with the highest score wins.

Congratulations! You’ve been promoted from “Oxygen Scrubber Technician” to Lead Arcology Architect. Welcome to the City of Tomorrow! It’s a towering marvel of reinforced concrete, pulsing with corporate ambition and only slight adjacency to the toxic radioactive swamp Exclusion Zone. Don’t worry about the smell; that’s just the scent of localized atmospheric decomposition Progress!

Your task is delightfully simple: fulfill the Board’s ever-shifting quotas before the citizenry realizes they haven’t seen a real tree in three generations.

THE ARCOLOGY DIRECTIVE
Resource Allocation (Dice Drafting): Each round, you will draft Development Dice to construct your Arcology. Efficiency is mandatory; precision is highly encouraged; failure is grounds for immediate exile reassignment.

Asset Deployment (The Grid): You must place your drafted pairs adjacent to one another. Per Corporate Bylaws, at least one sector must be placed next to a matching color OR connected to the Central Administrative Hub. Failure to do so will result in a sternly worded visit from the Corporate Compliance Committee.

Variable Profitability (Scoring Cards): You will juggle an array of Transparent Scoring BluPrints. These represent the fickle, “human” needs of your population—things like “fresh air” or “not living in a dumpster.” Adapt quickly; the Board’s priorities shift faster than a company-wide layoff.

The pressure is on! You are in a high-stakes race against competing Citizen-Architects to build an Arcology that is smarter, faster, and most importantly, more profitable than theirs.

Do try to keep your developments away from the Exclusion Zone. While the chemical haze is certainly atmospheric, the lawsuits from mutated residents are an administrative nightmare.

THE BOTTOM LINE
Will your Arcology become a shining beacon of Urban Utopia, or will it crumble into a cautionary tale of “budgetary blunder”? Only one Citizen-Architect can claim the Corner Office. The rest? Well, the Exclusion Zone is always looking for new “organic matter.”
