LORE: The throne sits empty, and the kingdom is fractured. Two legendary commanders, evenly matched in military might, have brought the realm to the brink of total war. Both armies boast the exact same forces—fourteen (14) of the kingdom's most elite units—but the fog of war is thick, and only ten (10) of the units join the frontlines.
The war will be decided across three (3) critical battle zones. In each zone, commanders must secretly deploy a vanguard of three (3) units. Combat is swift and brutal; victory demands perfectly timed counter-strikes, devastating ambushes, and the assassination of enemy generals before they can execute their orders. The commander who conquers most of the three fronts will claim the crown.
However, if the battlegrounds run red and the conflict ends in a stalemate, the frontlines will collapse. The war will then be decided in a final, desperate Sudden Death clash, where the last remaining defender held in your hand must make a final stand for the throne.

INTRO & SETUP: The Strategist: Kings Duel is a competitive, 14-card micro-strategy game of deduction and prediction where two commanders clash across three battlefronts in a battle of wits. Both players command the exact same army, represented by identical 14-card decks. At the start of the duel, each player draws 10 cards to form their hand, leaving the remaining 4 cards hidden face-down in their Reserve.

GAMEPLAY: The game is played over three rounds. In each round, players simultaneously select and secretly deploy 3 cards from their hand. Once revealed, the battle begins. Card abilities resolve in a strict priority order, allowing for brutal counter-plays, assassinations, and ambushes. The player with the highest total power at the end of the round conquers that front.

VICTORY: Winning the most rounds secures the ultimate victory. However, if the players are locked in a draw after the third round, the single unplayed card remaining in your hand becomes your last line of defense to decide the victor in a Sudden Death tiebreaker. With no randomness after the initial draw, victory relies entirely on tactics - deducing your opponent's play and countering them.
