In *The Good Farmer*, players win tricks to accumulate money. To follow, they can play a card of the suit led or of the same rank as the first card in the trick.

The ranks that act as trumps change throughout the round: the trump threshold gradually decreases, which alters the strength of the cards still in hand. Winning a trick with a trump card also allows you to collect the Family token.

This family can be costly: certain cards result in losses, and keeping the token at the end of the round incurs an additional penalty. Players must therefore balance immediate gains, control over tricks, and the timing of when to shed this responsibility. The richest player wins the game.
