In play, Spytails combines trick-taking with deck-building. Each agent is represented by a unique hand-carved wooden meeple, crafted with care to match their secretive persona. Players move through a series of operations where they must forecast their success, play cards strategically, and respond to shifting situations at the table. It is not just about having strong cards, but about using them at the right moment, reading your opponents, and adapting your plan as the round unfolds. The deck-building element allows players to refine their options over time, adding more control and strategy as the game progresses.

To win, players aim to earn the most Influence by the end of the game. This means managing your operations wisely, making strong forecasts, disrupting opponents when it benefits you, and building a deck that supports your overall plan. The player who handles these hidden agendas and tactical choices most effectively will emerge as the top agent and win the game.
