Paris 1800 allows players to play as the great figures of the nineteenth century Romantic and Modern, to decide the future planning of the capital. Modern transform the city by expanding its boulevards, creating monuments in iron and glass. Romantics will preserve the old quarters of bourgeois ambitions by using the dissatisfaction of the people of Paris.
One player is the Modern ans plays Haussmann and two police chiefs
Others players are the Romantics (1 Romantic per player)
Turn Sequence :
1 - Rewards : Modern gains money ; Romantics gains "Inspiration". Romantics draw 1 Revolution card when the Time Cube (grey) is on a Revolution dot
2-Move : players can place their tokens on the board
3-Actions : Romantics do their Actions first. They can:
a-Go out of France (Exil)
b-Go in Fontainebleau Forest
c-Pay for deliver a Romantic in the Fortress
d-Raise the angry of the Parisians by put an "Angry token"
Bonus : if there are 5 adjacent Angry tokens , 1 of them can be substituted by a Revolt token
e: Find Haussmann and gain 3 VP
f : If Romantics succeed their Revolution goal, they gain 8 VP
Modern can :
a-Go to the City Hall to obtain a building permit
b-Go to the "Beaux-Arts" Academy to have a Project
c-Renove a district. Haussmann must be in this district., and this district must match with the Project requirements and the building permit. This action also costs some money and Modern gains victory points (VP)
d. Pacification : a Modern token can discard an "Angry token". On a Police token can be in a revolted district and remove the token. It costs 2 millions.
e : Jail a Romantic : can be done by a Police token which is on the same district than a Romantic token, which is placd in the Fortress.
All the players can : Open/Close the Magazine in Montmartre and Go to the Observatory to change the Move Order.
Victory : there's a score track at the left of the board. The winner is the faction which have 20 VP before the end of the game or its depends of the position of the scoring cube on the track at the end of the game (1910).
