Monster Wasteland is a cooperative survival adventure board game set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland full of eldritch monsters. You play as the leader of a Faction navigating an uncharted valley in the hopes of making it habitable before the harsh winter. The game takes place on a modular hex map and revolves around strategic unit placement, resource management, and crafting in order to fight back against the monsters and overcome the perils of the wasteland itself.

Over the course of eight rounds, you’ll need to earn points performing tasks that make the wasteland a better place like slaying monsters and building cities. You'll navigate the treacherous map as massive Monsters spawn, gather materials to build settlements and craft an arsenal, make tough decisions in harsh narrative events, and ultimately form a unique playstyle that lets you overcome whatever the Wasteland throws at you!

When you've scored twenty points across different objective categories (Civilization, Research, Survival, and Weaponry), you can either win the game and be treated to an epilogue according to your playstyle OR begin one of four Endgame scenarios. Endgames are just one of the many ways to adjust the difficulty and playtime sliders in the game.

Monster Wasteland is partially inspired by the deep strategic map-crawling of 4X games. But there's no world domination in the wasteland, so as a tribute to its adjacency we lovingly refer to it as a "4-S" game: Sneak, Salvage, Settle, and Slay.
