Back in 1994, in a demonstration which took place in Belgium, the sentence “If the bee disappeared off the face of the Earth, man would only have four years left to live” was exclaimed.
In Mel, you’re the queen bee and your purpose is to collect nectar and produce honey with the help of your swarm. Will you get your swarm of bees to feed you and your larvae for the good of the ecosystem?

The goal of the game is to be the queen bee with more nectar or honey points at the end of the game.

When it’s your turn, you have two options:

-Place one of your bees on the central flower crown (or the beehive) of the game board and move it compulsorily. The movement has to be either vertical or horizontal and has to reach the furthest clear flower crown or beehive of the chosen direction; it’s forbidden to jump over another bee.

-Move one of the bees which is already present on the game board. The possible movements are the ones stated in the previous step.

In either case, when your turn is over, the central flower crown (or beehive) can never be occupied. Now, it’s the turn of the queen bee situated on your left.

The game can end because of two different situations:

- When there are no bees left to play. When a queen bee places her last bee, the game ends for her, but the rest must go on.

-To cause a Mel: when you place a bee in the center of the game board, and you can’t move it anymore.

In that case, you need to add up the obtained nectar (or honey) points and the player with the highest score is proclaimed the winner. In case of a tie, the player who has a bigger group wins. if the tie continues, the player who has the second bigger group wins, and so on and so forth.
