Players play in partnership with a standard deck of cards.

Suits rank in a cycle ...SCDHSCDHS... for trump purposes. If two or three consecutive suits are played to a trick, the relative highest-ranked suit acts as trumps. If all four suits are played, then all suits are trumps, with ties going to the last one played.

Sides score points by winning tricks that contain combinations of cards similar to those in Cribbage: 15s, 31s, flushes, pairs, prials, double-prials, runs, running flushes, and the Jack of the 'seasonal suit', Jack Havel.

The side reaching the target score first wins a game, with a rubber going to side reaching a specified number of games.
