Navigate labyrinths, fight ferocious lurkers, discover loot, upgrade your character, and make a name for yourself... if you ever make it out.

Objective:

Haphazard is a unique narrative, campaign, dungeon crawler game. First, create a path on a grid, add some monsters and loot and locks… Next, compete with your rivals to exit the level first. The player with the most renown after playing all 11 unique levels wins.

Gameplay can be divided into 3 main phases

Create your labyrinth for your rival to solve
Explore- move, collect gold, fight lurkers, pick locks
Upgrade- buy items, heal up, prepare for the next level

Just because you exit a level first doesn't mean you have the most renown. Your character's FLAIR and number of HP (health) remaining will also impact renown.

Each time you begin a level, you will listen to a dramatized story. When you fight certain monsters or encounter certain locks, the player sheet will instruct you to listen to another entry in the story.

The Story Unfolds:

You’ve never left the shadow of the volcano on which you and your small town of Azulea have called home for as long as anyone can remember.

Visitors are always wary of the volcano, and when it blasts little puffs of smoke, they quickly grab their bags and leave, asking why you stay despite the danger.

Your answer is always the same.

“Respect. We treat her with respect and she reciprocates.”

One day, your peaceful world suddenly shattered.

A mysterious fox arrived and your town welcomed him. He was given the best food, and a room at your cousin’s bed and breakfast. In the morning, he was gone, but your cousin brings you a note he had left on his bed.

"Azulea awakes. She is angry. Find a new home.
Don’t follow me. Eight travelers tried. Eight travelers died."

And so you embark on a journey to take back a precious stone and return it to Azulea before your entire village is destroyed.

Three modes:

Head to head (create a labyrinth for each other)
Solo (paper with required web application)
3-5 players (plus one Dungeon Master)
