818 (Eight Eighteen) is a fun, fast paced trick-taking game of strategy and luck designed for the whole family!

The deck consists of 66 cards in 5 suits numbered 1-13 and one "Clincher" card.

The game is played over a series of 15 rounds and the person with the highest points at the end is the winner.

Gameplay:
The dealer deals a different number of cards depending on the round, which follows the pattern of 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8.

After each hand is dealt, the top card of the deck is flipped face-up to determine the trump suit for the round.

Players review their cards and decide how many trick’s they think they can win. Starting with the player left of the dealer and continuing clockwise, each player in turn order verbally announces their bid.
However, the total number of tricks proposed to won by the players cannot equal the number of cards dealt for the round.

For Example:
It’s the first round of play and 8 cards have been dealt to five players.
Four players have already announced their bids which total 5 tricks.
It is the dealer’s turn to bid, they cannot bid 3 (5 + 3 = 8).

Play begins with player left of the dealer and proceeds clockwise. Subsequent players must follow suit if able. The only exception is the “Clincher” card which can be played at anytime and wins the hand no matter what.

Scoring:
If a player hits their bid exactly, they take the number of tricks won as points plus a bonus of 10 points.

If a player misses their bid, they take the number of tricks won as points but do not receive the bonus 10 points.

If a player bids zero and succeeds, they receive the 10 bonus points (no tricks were taken).
