In Deesis, players compete for influence in a religious metropolis where divine favor, reputation and wealth shape their path to power. During the game, players travel between regions, construct and upgrade buildings, recruit Specialists and develop their decks with Allies, Artifacts and Spells.
Each region focuses on a different style of play. Yellow supports economic development and building upgrades, red revolves around Sin, card burning and victory points, while blue focuses on Reputation, Fate and additional travel. Players can combine cards, Specialists and buildings to create increasingly powerful turns.
Over the course of the game, players also seek the favor of the Gods and advance toward the Temple. The game ends after the required players reach the Temple, and final scoring includes victory points earned during play as well as end-game bonuses from Specialists, Favor and other achievements. The player with the most victory points wins.
