ZU Tiles is at its core an abstract strategy game. The goal of the game is to score 12 points. There are two primary ways to score points: 1) Complete a 2X2 square of creatures that are all "compatible" with their neighboring tiles and 2) Have an Attacking tile defeat a Defending tile in a BATTLE. There are various other ways to score points as well but the two just mentioned are the primary ways.

ZU Tiles is loosely based on the creatures of the lunar zodiac and how they may or may not be compatible with each other. The game taps into the organic, and pretty much universal understanding of what the creatures already do in nature so players should feel super comfortable and "at home" when playing the game even for the first time. Rabbits hop, Pigs eat, Horses kick, Rams push, Dragons fly, etc, etc.
