It is the “Sengoku” era of Zipang (medieval Japan). As a samurai among feudal warring states, you are bringing order to the chaos using your military forces, in order to become Shogun.
Zipang contains a central map where you battle for provinces and build castles to quickly gain the victory points.
You move along the border, the Sugoroku path on which you travel, gaining Mangoku (the currency in this game), and conducting special events. During each turn, you choose whether to move along the Sugoroku path or attempt to occupy other provinces by playing cards in your hand.
During battles to occupy other players' provinces, you will roll dice to determine the winner.
you may also use your Mangoku to build castles that will help defend provinces you control.
The provinces are marked with a Swordsmith (katana icon), a Stable (horse icon), or a Gunsmith (arquebus icon).
If you occupy provinces with these icons, they will grant you special advantages during the game play.
