Tic Tac Go is a fast-paced 2-player strategy game where rock-paper-scissors rules combine with Chess move rules on a Tic Tac Toe 3X3 game board. It’s Tic Tac Toe on a whole new level. The simplicity of Tic Tac Toe with the thinking required in Chess. Players move rock paper and scissor chips onto the game board from their stacks of unplayed chips, following rock paper scissor stacking rules, by stacking rocks onto scissors, paper onto rocks and scissors onto papers. On each turn, players can choose to stack a chip from their stack of chips onto the board, or choose to move chips already on the board. Players can move their own chips which are already on the board to new locations using Chess Move rules. Rock chips move like chess knights. Paper chips move like a chess rooks. Scissor chips move like chess bishops.
Goal is to get 3 of your own chips in a row to win, but with a twist. Three in a row of the same chips, ie, 3 rocks, or 3 papers, or 3 scissor chips in a row is a soft win, like Check in Chess. Your opponent can cancel your soft win with a strategic Chess move. If a soft win is cancelled, the game continues until someone wins with a noncancellable soft win, or with a Rock Paper Scissor hard win row.
A hard win is a Rock Paper Scissor row, with a Rock chip, a paper chip, and a scissor chip in the same row in Rock Paper Scissor order. This is a noncancellable win. Like Checkmate in chess.
When a player moves a chip already on the board to stack upon the opponent’s chip using a chess move, the chip under the moved chip becomes active again. This newly active chip can change the entire game. Memory is the key to winning. Players must try to remember which chips are covered by a stacked chip.
Players can also strategically move their chips between board positions using a castling move, similar to castling in chess, to exchange board positions between two chips on the board. This type of move does not uncover any chips, so its safer than moving a chip onto an opponent’s chip.
The game is simple to learn, but with surprising depth.
