Looking at the Seven Years War, military historians tend to concentrate on the big battles. However, the day to day campaign activity of the combatants included reconnaissance, raids, probing actions, resupply and a host of other minor operations that frequently lead to small skirmishes. What I want to do in this volume of Refighting History is to take...
Refighting History is a series of wargame books by Charles S Grant. In this series Charles describes historical actions, provides the detail of the forces involved and the preparation to bring the actions to the wargame table. Each refight is then described both in words and pictures. These will include not only famous larger battles but also smaller...
Having covered some relatively small actions in Volume 1 of Refighting History Volume 2 examines some larger battles. The battles in question come from the War of the Austrian Succession and more specifically the First Silesian War. The first battle is something of a wargame classic - Mollwitz. The Grant’s first Mollwitz wargame is coved with an excerpt...

The Battle - provides an account of the historical battle. In this section a...

The five battles covered range from the relatively...
In Volume 7 of Refighting History, Charles S. Grant examines the Seven Years War battles in the Western Theatre. From 1757 through to 1762 an Allied Coalition army fought against the French in support of Prussia. In August 1758, the first British contingent of troops arrived. The Allied army was a polyglot mix from nations including Britain, Brunswick...
This is the fourth in a series of mini campaign books. This volume, The Siege of La Crenoilis following a similar format to its predecessors. Table Top Teasers are scenarios for wargames by another name. The intention is to provide the players with a credible military setting and objectives, which allow for rather more than simply lining up two similar...
6th mini campaign book dealing with the fictitious wars of the Grand Duchy of Lorraine and the Vereinigte Freie Städte (VFS). This campaign is completely different from those described in previous books. The previous books have led the readers and players through number of set piece scenarios.
