The 13th Street Crew is a semi-cooperative social deduction game of criminal strategy. The players are low-ranking members of a large criminal organization headed by the Old Don that for all intents and purposes runs this fair city. The players represent fellow crew members occupying the lowest rung in the organization. Most of the players are ambitious and eager to prove they deserve to advance. One of the players … may have decided to instead work against the organization as a police informant.

At the beginning of the game, players are secretly given a hidden identity as either a loyal crew member or an informant. While it is highly likely that one of the crew is an informant, it is also possible that there is not one.

Over the course of the game, players will work to complete various jobs for the organization with the goal of proving they are good earners. To do this, the players will use various resources needed to complete the jobs, and will often have to work with other members of the crew to ensure they have enough resources to complete the job. However, players cannot directly talk about the resources they have, and can even mislead the other players about what they might have.
If jobs are successfully put together, there still is a chance that the jobs will fail as a result of police action, either as a result of one of the players secretly calling the police, or due to bad luck. More than one player can win the game (even all can win!) but no one can be truly trusted. Loyal crew members win by making enough money for the organization. The informant can also win by having enough jobs fail due to police action.
