In the game 'Temple' , players take on the role of builders of the Temple of Jerusalem. Their task is to construct the Lord’s Tabernacle and maintain it in splendor. In line with the saying, “Unity builds, discord destroys”, players will need to cooperate with each other, but also compete, in order—with the help of the city they govern and the Patrons who support them—to build as many parts of the Temple as possible. The geopolitical situation of Ancient Israel will not make this task any easier. Unexpected events are bound to occur during the game, and rulers of neighboring lands will jealously watch the success and divine blessing bestowed upon the builders of His Temple, in which His worship is to be carried out. More than once they will attempt to seize for themselves this fertile land flowing with milk and honey, and to destroy the Tabernacle. Yet God remains faithful to His promises, so those loyal to His Law will complete the construction despite the difficulties. Ultimately, history will remember those who contributed the most to building the Temple of Jerusalem.

The game is based on core elements: bidding for construction concessions, expanding successive stages of the Temple, developing one’s craft, and trading. The game consists of 8 phases: resource payout, concession bidding, marketplace, craft building, hiring workers, activating the Hand of God Card, paying workers, and finally constructing elements of the Temple. The Hand of God Cards that appear during the game can drastically change the course of play.
