In Swanchyboy Studios Pirates players take on the roles of sailors during the Golden Age of Piracy. Through a series of turns, players will build their crew, acquire ships, trade goods, and complete missions, all in an effort to gain the most victory points by game’s end.

In this immersive world, players will encounter four powerful nations, The Spanish, The English, The French, and The Dutch—vie for dominance, each with its own ambitions and strategies. As you set sail, remember, the seas are not just home to merchants and adventurers but also to ruthless pirates who will stop at nothing to claim their bounty.

Each nation starts with NPC merchant ships laden with riches, tempting targets for daring pirates. These merchant ships sail the seas, carrying valuable cargo waiting to be plundered by those brave enough to attack.

The pirate NPC is a constant threat, lurking on the horizon, ready to pounce on unsuspecting ships. While they chase everyone, their primary targets are those who choose not to engage in combat, making them easy prey for the ruthless pirates.

Provoking the ire of a nation comes with consequences. Once a player attacks a ship of a particular nation, that nation will unleash its naval might. Naval ships from that nation will relentlessly pursue the aggressor, seeking retribution for their attacked brethren.

As a captain, you are not alone in this quest. You can recruit sailors at different ports, each with their own skills and abilities.

Combat between ships and crew is resolved by dice roll; the amount of dice will depend on the specific abilities of the ship or crew.

Ships also use dice roll for movement and the amount of dice will depend on the particular ship. You have several options at ports as what ship to purchase and use in your adventure.

Your goal is simple: to become the most famous captain on the high seas. But achieving this goal will require more than just skill and cunning. You must be prepared to face challenges from all sides, whether it be battling rival ships, delivering precious cargo to distant ports, or searching for hidden treasure beneath the waves.

Navigate the treacherous waters, recruit skilled sailors, engage in epic battles with other ships, and embark on daring quests for gold and riches, Each player is a sailor looking to be the most famous in the Caribbean.
