Storyfold: Buried Truths is a solo narrative mystery game, the second title in the Storyfold line after Storyfold: Wildwoods.

You are Declan, a Boston detective called home to the small town of Sun Haven after his father's sudden death. Hidden in his father's desk are original police case files that should be sitting in a county evidence room, and before Declan can ask why, a body turns up at the Triple J Ranch. The closed files and the open case are about to collide.

The story unfolds through a storybook and Chapter decks, with a Prologue deck that teaches the game as you play. Each Chapter is split into Scenes, and every Scene has its own illustrated board of locations to work through.

Each Scene has a gated key location. Resolve it before the Time marker reaches the end of the track and Declan prevails, carrying the best version of the story and its rewards into the next Scene. Run out of time and Doubt prevails: the story continues, but on a worse path. Draw the third Doubt card and the Chapter is lost.
