This is partly a card game and partly a paragraph game-book.

It is a thematic adventure game for a solo player. You play as one of the famous ‘Affiliations’ in the Star Trek universe, such as the noble Federation, the war-like Klingons or the treacherous Romulans.

To win the game you must gain 100 points and 5 Objective Tokens, mainly by completing Missions before your ‘Tour’ of 50 Turns elapses and the game ends. While exploring space and completing Missions, you may encounter problems, including hostile Ships or Away Teams that will hinder your progress. There are plenty of Missions to choose, and situations to encounter, so each game will be a new, fresh experience.

Star Trek: Adventures in the Final Frontier (STAFF) has three booklets: Rules, Missions and Encounters. There is also an LCARS Encounter Log Sheet, a Mission Log mat and a Captain’s Log mats for players. These play alongside a Draw deck of cards from the Star Trek CCG (Personnel, Equipment etc) and automate the game without an opponent. You also need two six-sided dice (2D6) and tokens to keep track of current totals such as Challenges, Points, and Turns in the game.
