The 60s. The Cold War at its peak. The secret services of the world powers sabotage, assassinate, blackmail and intrigue. Only the actions should not come out. Stealth is everything.

Spy Business is a tactical, deductive card game for two spies aged 8 and up. You take the lead of two rival intelligence agencies and try to find out as much information about each other's actions as possible.

At the same time, you are careful to keep your own actions secret. The more explosive an action is, the higher its value and the more important it is that it doesn't come to light.

In addition, you will need a character and a chip in blue and red.

You shuffle all 20 cards and place them face down.
The two cards directly in front of you form the headquarters of your secret services, from where your game pieces start.

ORIENTATION PHASE
At the beginning, you may look at any two cards at a time without showing them to the opposing secret service. The enemy headquarters is too well guarded and is therefore off limits.

ESPIONAGE PHASE
Take turns moving your pawn clockwise one position, next to the next row of cards, then perform one of two actions:

Look at any card.

OR

Exchange any two cards without looking at them first.

Rows of pieces and the opponent's headquarters are off limits for both actions.

REVEAL PHASE
You may turn one card at a time 90 degrees, which this time may not belong to either headquarters. Depending on the position of the card, this will overlap two, three or four adjacent cards.

Then place your piece on the rotated card. This card and all overlapped cards cannot be revealed again and remain secret. However, they also cost you valuable points.

3 minus points for two overlapped cards, 6 for three cards, and a full 10 for four cards.

So the actions you don't want revealed had better be worth it.

ELIMINATION PHASE
You may now take turns revealing four cards at a time. Then add up the points of the revealed cards. Every enemy secret goes to your account, no matter who revealed it.
The points of the double agent go to the person who uncovered it.
However, no points are awarded for the dead end.
When you have deducted the minus points from the overlapped cards, whoever has the most points left over wins.
