Progressive Logomachy is an extension of Logomachy to include 16 players at 4 tables, and multiple games played with constant switching of tables and partners. The contents are 4 Logomachy decks, 16 partner cards, 16 score cards, 16 invitations, and adhesive stars.

First, partner cards are assigned: 1, 1a, 2, 2a, ... 8, 8a. Players X and Xa are initial partners, and teams 1 and 2 play at table 1, 3 & 4 at table 2, 5 & 6 at table 3, 7 & 8 at table 4. Each table plays a game of Logomachy, with table 1 ringing a bell to start the games, and also when they finish -- other tables just stopping play if not done yet, and calculating the current scores. The winning pair at each table gets a gold star on their score cards, and the losing pair a red star. Then partners rotate tables -- the losers at table 1 going to table 4, and the winners at the other tables going to the next table up (4 to 3, 3 to 2, 2 to 1) -- and then the players at each table with the 'a' partner card switch partners, and everyone plays the next game of Logomachy. At the end -- after a certain amount of time, or of games, or someone attaining a certain total score -- the X and Xa players with the most gold stars get a prize, and those with the most red stars get a booby prize.

The rules are written assuming that mixed couples are playing, with the gentlemen getting the X partner cards, and the ladies the Xa cards, but any 16 people can play by those rules. Similarly, fewer than 4 tables of players could play -- or more, if more card decks are added.

The Progressive Logomachy decks have 56 letter cards each, the same as in the sets of the first publisher F. A. Wright, and the early McLoughlin sets; their later sets had 72 cards. Their art is black ink only, like those of Wright, and while the non-Prize cards all have the same songbird art, there is new art for each of the Prize letters JKQVXZ. These decks have smaller cards than from all other sets -- 2.25" x 3.25" as opposed to 2.5" x 3.5".
