A patient is admitted to the emergency ward with rapidly developing symptoms. Doctors rush to see the patient with morbid curiosity on the otherwise dull night. Is there one among them who can solve the medical mystery before the patient meets their demise? Time, and perhaps their associates, are against them!

Prognosis Death is a strategic set collection game where each player is an expert doctor who is racing to diagnose a patient and discharge them. Prognosis Death is reminiscent of Rummy style games.

In Prognosis Death there are two ways to win. The first way to win is by having the lowest score remaining in your hand when the patient is discharged. Reduce your score by creating sets of cards (a diagnosis), by contributing to other player’s diagnoses, or by discarding cards. The second, less frequent way is to have the highest score in your hand when the game ends and the patient has died.

Each of the ten different symptom types has a unique effect that can help or hinder you. A card's effects may trigger either when you discard it or meld it.

The core mechanic of the game is revolves around 'accessible cards' an accessible card is any card you have in your hand that you have not revealed or any card your opponents have in their hands that they have revealed. During the game you will be required to reveal cards to your opponents - potentially giving them access to just the card they needed.
