For hundreds of years they have watched others enjoy the glory of battle. They have helped heroes rescue the damsel in distress. They have won humans fortunes untold. They have decided the outcome of a million encounters. But never in all that time have they ever entered the battle as the hero or the damsel. Not a single coin has ever been won for them. Never has an encounter been theirs to experience.
