A Phlounder egy nagyon könnyen tanulható társasjáték, 2 - 6 játékos részére, az átlagos játékidő rövid, csak 10 perc. A társast, a könnyebb tanulhatósága miatt, akár már 8 éves kortól ajánljuk kipróbálni. A játékmenet erősen épít a valósidejű, a verseny és a spelling mechanizmusokra.

Dice are rolled to determine the type of word (noun or verb) and length. All players start pulling letters off the board by sliding them along various tracks to an exit point, and discarding letters at entrance points. Alternatively, players can play without the board, just picking tiles.

The first player who come up with a word rings the bell. Scoring ensues. The person with the highest score after 11 rounds, wins.
