The Lark Game Box is a portable tabletop game system designed to play multiple classic and original games using interchangeable boards and shared components.

The Lark includes a compact wooden box, double-sided boards, and universal pieces that support a growing library of games ranging from traditional abstracts to modern microgames.

Some games are designed specifically for the Lark system, while others are compatible with it as an optional play surface or component set.

The original games revolve around a fixed set of components that are small enough to fit in the Lark. Crypticolor is a puzzle game where players use colored cubes to encode and decrypt 5-letter word puzzles. Flip & Skip is a game that includes actions like jumping and swapping chips, set collection, and a “rock, paper, scissors”-type of mechanic.

Flip and Skip:
Flip and Skip is a two-player abstract strategy game for ages 14 and up. It is played on a chessboard using double-sided chips that players may flip, skip, swap, and stack. A typical match lasts 20–30 minutes. The game combines positional play with hand management, creating a tactical duel of timing, risk, and board control.

On a player’s turn, they flip one or more chips in their hand and resolve one of the revealed actions. The used chip is then added to their collection. Next, they move one or more of their pieces on the board, advancing, defending, or capturing an opponent’s piece. Each turn requires players to balance chip management with tactical planning, as every action shapes both the board state and future options.

The first player to collect three sets of matching chips wins the game.

Crypticolor:
Crypticolor is a competitive spy-themed word-deduction game for 2–4 players. It blends Battleship-style hidden targeting with Hangman-style letter deduction in a tense contest of logic and pattern recognition.

On a player’s turn, they make three guesses to reveal information about a hidden letter shape within their opponent’s secret code word, then place colored cubes on a 5x5 grid to mark hits and misses. Each guess narrows the possibilities and brings the hidden word closer to being solved.

Players score points for correct guesses and lose points for incorrect ones. After all code words have been revealed, the player with the highest score wins.

An advanced mode introduces rotated, reflected, and partially obscured letter shapes.

The system emphasizes portability, tactile play, and long-term reusability.
