Over seven rounds, players try to create Spanish words from the letters in their hand. Each round, the number of cards increases, with 4 cards in the first round all the way up to 10 cards in the final round. Each turn, the player draws from the deck or from one of the two discard piles. If a player is able to make a word (or words) from all their cards and still discard, they can go out, giving the remaining players just one more turn to make as many words as they can.

Words are scored based on their point values at the end of the round, with any unused cards in a player's hand scoring negative points. Whoever has the highest score after 7 rounds wins!

Once per game, a player may shout "Palabrero!" if they think they will be the first player to go out that round. If they succeed in being first, their points for the round are DOUBLED! However, with reward comes risk, so if they are NOT the first to go out, their points for that round are cut in half.

The rules have other optional bonuses that can be used as well: longest word, most words, category bonus, etc. Letter distribution of the cards is specifically designed for creating Spanish words (e.g. RR, LL, Ñ, and others!)

A lo largo de siete rondas, los jugadores intentan formar palabras en español con las letras que tienen en la mano. En cada ronda, el número de cartas aumenta, pasando de 4 cartas en la primera ronda hasta 10 cartas en la ronda final. En cada turno, el jugador roba una carta del mazo o de una de las dos pilas de descarte. Si un jugador es capaz de formar una palabra (o palabras) con todas sus cartas y aún así descartar alguna, puede terminar la partida, lo que deja a los jugadores restantes solo un turno más para formar tantas palabras como puedan.

Las palabras se puntúan según su valor al final de la ronda, y las cartas que el jugador tenga en la mano y no haya utilizado le restan puntos. ¡Gana quien tenga la puntuación más alta tras 7 rondas!

Una vez por partida, un jugador puede gritar «¡Palabrero!» si cree que va a ser el primero en quedarse sin cartas en esa ronda. Si consigue ser el primero, ¡sus puntos de esa ronda se DUPLICAN! Sin embargo, la recompensa conlleva un riesgo, por lo que, si NO es el primero en quedarse sin cartas, sus puntos de esa ronda se reducen a la mitad.

Las reglas incluyen otras bonificaciones opcionales que también se pueden utilizar: la palabra más larga, el mayor número de palabras, la bonificación por categoría, etc. La distribución de letras de las cartas está diseñada específicamente para crear palabras en español (por ejemplo, RR, LL, Ñ y otras).
