Pachan-wow! turns a traditional jigsaw puzzle into a competitive, turn-based social game driven by surprise, timing, and dynamic scoring.

All puzzle pieces begin face up, showing only the image—their underside colors remain hidden.

Turn Structure

Each turn follows a designer-created pre-placement sequence:

1. Select a puzzle piece
The active player chooses any piece from the table without knowing its point value.
Only after selecting it, the player flips the piece to reveal the hidden color on the underside (blue, red, yellow, green, white, or black).

2. Roll the Blue Die
This die produces a small bonus or constraint for the turn.

3. Possible activation of the Red Die
Some Blue Die results trigger a second die that can introduce chaotic effects affecting points, players, or turn order.

4. Draw a Scoring Card (VSD card)
This card assigns temporary point values to every color for this specific turn.
Because values change each turn, a piece’s worth is always unpredictable until the moment of play.

5. Place the piece
The player fits the revealed piece into its correct position in the puzzle.

6. Score on the abacus
The color revealed at the start of the turn determines how many points the player gains based on the current Scoring Card.
Points are recorded using a two-row bead scoring abacus (units and tens), keeping scoring tactile and fast.

End of the Game

Players repeat this full cycle—select piece → reveal color → dice effects → scoring card → placement → abacus scoring—until the puzzle is completed.
The player with the highest total score wins.

Pachan-wow! converts a solitary activity into an interactive, tense, and often hilarious group competition, introducing timing, suspense, and tactical choice into the world of puzzles.
