The Last Watch is the first Chronicle for Netherwatch: a linked story of 4 Operations played across multiple sessions. Agents uncover the remnants of a failed mission from decades past, piecing together what happened through choices, discoveries, and consequences that carry forward from one game to the next.

Unlike a standard Operation, a Chronicle introduces branching paths and narrative interludes that unfold between and during missions.

Within each Mission and integrated within the framework of a traditional Netherwatch Operation, players will encounter several decision points depending on what the players have chosen to do and the current progress they have made. The Chronicle will guide players along an intricate story web of their own creation. Each Operation will contain a thematic prequel introducing the upcoming mission and an epilogue appropriate to how the players advanced their story.

Players will read new passages, make difficult decisions, and see the results echo across the story until its end. Successes and failures alike will shape the Chronicle’s conclusion - whether history is corrected or tragically repeated.
