In Nepotism!, players take on the satirical roles of senior corporate executives competing to maneuver their secret protégé—their hidden NepoBaby—to the top of the corporate ladder while amassing personal wealth along the way. The game takes place across a seven-tier corporate hierarchy spanning from entry-level Volunteers and Interns all the way up to Partners and Executives. Behind a veneer of corporate professionalism, each player uses their capital, influence, and hidden agendas to pull strings behind the scenes without revealing which worker belongs to them.

Gameplay revolves around hand management, market speculation, and covert movement using dual-purpose cards. On their turn, an executive can take one of three actions: secretly play a movement card face-down to any employee’s slot on the board, invest funds into speculative Prospects or instant disruptive Meddle actions, or liquidate their active investments for cash. Prospects rise and fall in value based on live org-chart conditions—such as headcounts at specific tiers or pawn positions—while Meddle cards trigger immediate corporate shakeups like surprise promotions, demotions, and card swaps. Once the eighth employee slot is filled, all face-down movement cards are revealed simultaneously to shift worker pawns up and down the ranks.

The game concludes immediately at the end of any round where the number of employees reaching the top Executive tier equals or exceeds the requirement on the advancing Round Track. Accumulating the largest fortune is the primary goal, but with one critical corporate catch: a player can only qualify for victory if their secret NepoBaby has successfully reached the Executive rank. Among all eligible executives whose protégés reached the top suite, the wealthiest player wins the game.
