MusicStorm is a music quiz card game for 1 to 8 players that uses physical cards together with a free web app. Each of the 102 play cards has a QR code that links to 4 songs, and the 4 songs share one hint about the artist or the songs. The song is randomly picked by the server for maximum replayability. In total the box holds 408 hits from the 1960s to today, with a few songs from the 1940s and 1950s. The 8 quiz cards give access to 320 quiz questions.

On your turn you roll the dice and carry out the task it shows. Most tasks work the same way: you scan a card from your hand, listen to the song and answer out loud. Depending on the roll you name the artist or band, the release year (2 years margin) or the decade, or you say whether the song is older, newer or from the same year as the previous one. If you roll Quiz, you scan a quiz card and answer a question in the app. A correct answer lets you discard the card. After a correct quiz answer you give one of your cards to another player instead. A wrong or late answer costs you penalty cards. The first player with an empty hand wins.

If you roll the storm, a chain starts. Players take turns adding storm cards to it. Lightning adds 1 point, Tornado adds 3 and Question Mark adds 1 (used a Lightning). The first player who can't or won't add a card draws as many cards as the storm has points. A Shield ends the storm at once and nobody draws. Storm and power cards also work as normal music cards, but you can't win by discarding one as your last card. For a harder game you can add the 8 optional joker cards (1 Year and Steal). You play a joker on the active player before they scan.

In the solo mode you play alone and try to discard all your cards within 18 turns. All players can share one phone, or each player can join on their own phone. You need a phone with an internet connection. The app is free and needs no account.
