Murmel7 – Space Edition is a marble racing game for 2–4 players, ages 6 and up, playing in about 15–25 minutes.
Players send their colored marble spaceships from Earth through the galaxy toward the Milky Way. Color dice, matching planets, and ramps trigger physical chain reactions. Marbles can roll through several ramps, push other spaceships, skip planets, or race unexpectedly far toward the scoring area.
The first player to score 7 or more points wins.

Your Journey to the Milky Way
Your adventure begins on Earth! From Earth Base, you launch your spaceship on an exciting journey through the galaxy. On your way to the Milky Way, you will pass many planets—some glow in your color, while others belong to alien space fleets. Your own planet: If your spaceship lands on a planet of your color, you can open the corresponding launch pad. If the planet, spaceship, and launch pad all match, your spaceship launches again immediately—starting a chain reaction!
An alien planet:
If your spaceship lands on a planet of a different color, it needs a command from Earth Base. The die helps you here: if it shows your spaceship's color and the planet, spaceship, and launch pad match, you may open the launch pad and your spaceship continues its journey. But watch out: if the colors don't match, your spaceship stays put! Can you make it to the Milky Way and collect 7 points or more?
1. Game idea and objective
In Murmel7, you guide your own spaceships through the galaxy. By making dice decisions, matching colours and using real physical chain reactions, you try to bring your spaceships all the way to the Milky Way.
The first player to score 7 points or more wins immediately.
2. Game components
• Game board with launch lanes, planets, launch ramps and the Milky Way.
• 7 marbles per player: 6 regular marbles and 1 special marble.
• Coloured launch ramps in red, blue, yellow and green.
• 2 black launch ramps – the Black Hole.
• 4 golden launch ramps – the Supernova.
• 2 colour dice and 1 special die.
• One wooden box per player as the base for the 7 spaceships.
3. Setup
Set up the game board securely and place the launch ramps in their designated positions.
Each player chooses a colour and receives the 7 matching marbles.
The special marble is recognisable by its translucent appearance.
The youngest player starts. Play then continues clockwise.
4. Your turn
Roll all three dice simultaneously. Choose up to two dice immediately; your choice is binding and the third die is forfeited. Resolve the chosen commands in the order you choose. A Joker cannot be saved for later.
After every opened launch ramp, observe where your spaceship rolls. A chain reaction may continue without another dice roll.
5. How a spaceship starts
Chain start – without a die: If the spaceship, planet and launch ramp all have the same colour, the spaceship may start immediately. If it reaches another matching launch ramp, the chain reaction may continue.
Start with a die – Earth Command: The planet and launch ramp must have the same colour. If the spaceship has a different colour, you must roll the spaceship’s colour. If you roll it, the spaceship may start.
A spaceship cannot start if the planet and launch ramp have different colours, regardless of the die result.
6. The Black Hole The two black launch ramps in the centre form the Black Hole. If your spaceship enters it, it remains blocked. If you selected Black or Joker during that turn, you may open the black launch ramp immediately. Otherwise, you may open it independently of the dice result on your next turn.
7. Golden launch ramps
The four golden launch ramps lie around the outside of the board and can lead towards the valuable 3-point compartments of the Milky Way. Gold may be used as a dice command; the Joker may also be used.
8. The special die
The special die contains player colours and the special commands Joker and Exchange Launch Ramps.
• Colour: works like a regular colour die.
• Joker: replaces a rolled colour, including Black or Gold. It must be used immediately and cannot be
saved. It cannot be used for Exchange Launch Ramps.
• Exchange Launch Ramps: each player may use this action exactly once during the entire game.
9. Exchange launch ramps
Exchange two empty coloured launch ramps. Black and golden ramps may not be exchanged. The exchange interrupts an ongoing flight chain and does not create a longer chain.
10. The Milky Way – scoring
The seven compartments score, from outside to inside: 3, 2, 1, 0, 1, 2, 3. Points are awarded immediately. A spaceship in the 0-point compartment returns to its base afterwards.
11. The special marble
Each player has one translucent special marble. In the Milky Way it always scores double: 1 becomes 2 points, 2 becomes 4 points, 3 becomes 6 points, and 0 remains 0 points.
12. When does a flight chain end?
A flight chain ends when the conditions at the next launch ramp are not met or the spaceship stops rolling. Momentum may carry it over several empty ramps, so the final stopping point cannot always be predicted.
13. Example of a complete turn
A red player rolls Red, Black and Green and chooses Red and Black. Red opens the red ramp and starts the red spaceship. It rolls into the Black Hole. Because Black was selected as the second die, the player opens the black ramp in the same turn and the spaceship continues its flight.
14. The special appeal of Murmel7
Murmel7 combines dice decisions with a real physical marble flight. You can plan, but you can never completely predict how far a spaceship will roll.
15. End of the game
As soon as one player has reached a total of 7 points or more, that player wins immediately.
Safety note: Not suitable for children under 3 years – choking hazard due to small parts.
