STAGE ONE.
Place the letter tablets face down in a 'pool' and mix them. Decide which player shall start. The other players will take turns in clockwise order. One letter tablet is placed in the center of the table, face up.
The first to play draws one tablet from the pool and must decide if this letter can be attached to the letter on the table at either end. To do so it must be in a sequence that will form part of a known word. The player must state the word he is making. The word can read from left to right or right to left. The next player draws a letter and if he can place it at either end, will do so. This player will also declare the word he is making as it may be different to the other players word. Each player, in turn, will do the same until a word is made.
If any player is unable to add his letter tablet to the row he must keep this tablet until the second stage of the game. It will not at any time be placed in the row.
Once a word is complete the two end letters of the word are turned at right angles to the row (in the manner of Dominoes) to show that the word has ended. Play will continue with each player drawing a letter, in turn, from the pool and having the option of placing it at either end. The 'turned' letter (i.e. the ends of the word) will become the first letters of the new words. Play will continue until all the letter tablets have been taken from the pool when the game proceeds to the second stage.

STAGE TWO.
Each player will now look at the letter tablets he has been unable to place in the row. He will sort these into as many complete, separate words as he can. At this stage no overlapping of the end letter is allowed. When this has been done the score can be taken.

SCORING.
The tablets that are left in each players hand will now score against him. Add the numbers on these tablets and the Winner will be the player with the lowest score.
