Metamachy is a chess-like game for two players played on a 12x12 game board. The game contains sixty pieces of twelve different types, thirty for each player: King, Queen, Eagle, Lion, Prince, Bishop, Knight, Camel, Rook, Cannon, Elephant and twelve Pawns.

The game presents players with twelve different starting set-ups, with Black choosing the set-up, then White making the first move.
