Master of Orion: Ad Astra is a 4X game designed for 2-4 players. Choose from six unique races and strategize your way to victory by managing your population, spearheading technological advancements, and overseeing critical infrastructure developments. The galaxy is yours to shape, and victory belongs to the player who amasses the highest number of victory points.

The galaxy unfolds before you with the unveiling of two-sided star tiles, each representing an undiscovered system. Explore uncharted territories by sending fleets to reveal these tiles, strategically planning your turns based on the color of the stars. Green stars may hold the key to solving your food shortage, while other colors present different opportunities and challenges.

Each unveiled system is a unique combination of a star tile, a planet tile, and a discovery tile. Draw planet tiles to reveal the characteristics of the planet in the system, influencing your workforce composition. Discover the secrets of each system through discovery tiles, uncovering everything from pirate fleets to unusual planetary phenomena. The galaxy is a tapestry of surprises, ensuring each explored tile brings new and exciting possibilities.

Technology Cards play a pivotal role in shaping the destiny of your empire. Engage in a technology card draft at the beginning of each round, selecting up to three cards. Accumulate research points to unlock nodes in one of the four tech trees, paving the way for advancements. Develop technologies such as "Gauss Cannons" by reaching breakthrough nodes within the Engineering tech tree, granting your empire strategic advantages and unique abilities.

During their turn, players may construct new spaceships, discover systems, move fleets, and take many other actions. Each player must perform one action or pass on their turn until everyone passes. The cards a player can gain during the drafting phase may have limits or requirements for their use. Throughout the game, players have the opportunity to collect victory points by fulfilling objectives. These points are crucial to winning, as players count their points based on race development and points from objectives at the very end of the game. The one who collects the most victory points is the winner.
