Players draw a running shoe as a token to move on the board and place them on START. Game cards are shuffled and placed face down on the designated space. The player with the Number 1 shoe draws the top game card and follows the instructions on the card for movement. The card is then placed on the designated discard space. Players continue to draw cards in turn until the cards are exhausted. The cards are re-shuffled and placed face down again. Play continues until all players have passed the through the finish chute.

When a player is instructed to go to the Sporting Goods Store, Rest Stop, etc. they lose a turn then discard the card. After loss of turn the player moves back onto the course.

The game board track is littered with information about runners, metabolic processes, metric conversions. running statistics and historical notes.
