Jaźniarz: Bitwa is a competitive card game set in the fantasy world of the novel Jaźniarz "Droga wygnanych" (English translation: The Self-Bearer: The Way of the Exiles). Players recruit characters and creatures from a shared deck, arranging them into columns to build their own fighting force while disrupting their opponents.

On a turn, a player draws a card and takes one action: plays a Companion or Joker, plays a Possessed Spirit, attacks an opponent's exposed card, or exchanges cards from their hand. Companions belong to four colour-coded regiments. Playing yellow cards allows an immediate attack, blue cards rearrange Companions already in play, red cards allow an additional Possessed Spirit to be played, and green cards retrieve a card from the discard pile. Players can maintain up to four columns, each containing up to three cards of the same regiment, with special cards modifying their strength or effects.

Attacks use the top Companion in a column, with support from the card beneath it when needed, while cards kept in hand can be used to defend. Possessed Spirits prevent affected columns from attacking or scoring; playing another Spirit onto an affected column removes both Spirits. The Night of Possession event creates an additional opportunity to place Spirits on the drawing player's columns.

Completing three columns of three cards triggers the end of the game; the rulebook introduction also specifies an end after the fifth Night of Possession. Players score the strength of their unaffected columns, and the highest total wins. A partnership variant allows teams of two to defend one another and combine their scores.
