Players begin by taking turns placing a seed on a space in a hexagonal grid. Players may only place seeds on a friendly (controlled by self) or neutral (no seeds) space.

When in a space, there are the same amount of seeds as there are neighboring spaces, the space is considered full and the seeds inside spread out to each of the neighboring spaces. If a destination space was previously a hostile space (controlled by the opponent), it becomes a friendly space. If after spreading the seeds, there are still full spaces, this will cause a chain reaction, causing additional spreads on each of the full spaces, until there are no more full spaces.

Once a player has no seeds left on the board, the other player is declared the winner. (Obvious exception to this is at the first turn of each player, since the board is empty before the start of the game).
