A SOLO EPIC-ISH DICE ADVENTURE!

Roll dice, explore the land, fight monsters, assemble parties of hapless heroes, and haul trophies back to town before your luck runs out.

Description:

HEROish is a solo dice-rolling adventure and resource-management puzzle. The player begins in Town with ten Coins, and a token representing their adventuring party. Their objective is to travel across the map, defeat every Monster and return the recovered Rewards to Town without running out of Coins.

On a normal turn, the player spends coins to move along a connected road. Landing on a space occupied by an undefeated Monster immediately begins combat.

During combat, the player wagers the Monster’s listed Coin cost and rolls three dice. After seeing the result, they may fold and lose the wager, or pay again to add another die. They may continue once more to roll a maximum of five dice. The final dice must form a poker-style combination that satisfies the Monster’s listed requirement.

Recruited Heroes can contribute additional fixed-value dice and special abilities, although activating those abilities may also cost Coins.

Defeating a Monster removes it from the map and gives the player its listed Rewards. Failing the combat costs the wagered Coins and causes the recruited Heroes to leave the party.

The player may return to Town whenever they choose. Upon arriving, accumulated Rewards are converted into usable Coins, but all recruited Heroes leave. While in Town, the player may recruit new Heroes or visit the Tavern to attempt a double-or-nothing wager.

Because Coins are required for movement, combat, Hero abilities and recruitment, the player must continually decide whether to press deeper into the map or return safely to Town.

The game ends immediately when either:

Every Monster has been defeated: the player wins.
The player runs out of Coins: the player loses through bankruptcy and can no longer continue the adventure.
