Inspired by classic 2p card games like Gin Rummy and Koi-Koi, players collect melds of 3 or more cards from sets and runs, aiming to pass thresholds for each suit in order to score points. Each turn players may either draw 2 cards from a shared deck and discard 1 to either of 2 discard piles OR draw all of the cards of either discard pile, melding any they can into sets, then taking the remaining as penalty cards.

Once players have melded a number of cards in a suit (the number of which is different, depending on the suit) they score points. Each suit in the game (Planet, Moon, Comet, Star) has different composition of ranks based on a pyramid, and card thresholds worth different amounts of points.

Each hand is a race to 5 points. Once a player reaches 5 points, they have the option to Stop the current hand and score 1 star fragment OR Nova and push their luck to reach 10 points before their opponent reaches 5. If they Nova successfully, they score 2 star fragments, but if they fail their opponent will score 1 star fragment instead.

The winner of the game is declared when either player earns 4 star fragments.
