Hanakoi World: Koifuda is a creative fusion of traditional Japanese hanafuda (“Koi-Koi”) mechanics with the narrative style of a romance visual novel. Players collect cards representing heroines, sub-heroines, items, and events to build relationships and trigger dramatic endings. The game balances competitive scoring with improvisational storytelling, allowing play as both a strategy game and a party-style roleplay experience.
How to Play:

Each player is dealt 8 cards.
On a turn, play a card from your hand; if it matches the month of a card on the table, you capture it.
Then draw from the deck; if it matches, capture that card too.
When you complete a “yaku” (set/role), you declare either “Koikoi” (continue for higher score) or “Finish” (end the round).
Play continues for 3 rounds, and scores are totaled.

Victory Conditions:

Points are earned by forming roles (yaku), such as:
Five Lights (Perfect Harem Ending): 5 heroine cards = 10 points
Four Lights (Harem Ending): 4 heroine cards = 8 points
Three Lights (Love Triangle Ending): 3 heroine cards = 6 points
Red/Blue Ribbon Sets: 3 younger or older sub-heroines = 5 points
Item or Event Sets: 5 cards = 1+ points, scaling with extras
Special Roles: e.g. “Yan-dere Ending” or “Hidden Heroine Ending” = 5–7 points
After 3 rounds, the player with the highest total score wins.

Special Features:

Three rule layers allow different play styles:
Basic Rule: Pure competitive scoring, like classic Koi-Koi.
Harem Rule: Adds romance-themed endings, evolution roles, and dramatic declarations.

Party Rule: Players freely create endings using collected cards; if others agree it fits, points are awarded.
This layered design makes the game suitable for both serious competition and lighthearted storytelling sessions.
