Gungi is a two-player strategy board game based on the game featured in the manga series Hunter x Hunter. It's played on a 9x9 board divided into three zones: your territory (3 rows), the neutral zone (3 rows), and your opponent's territory (3 rows).

Gungi plays similarly to chess, in that each player takes turns moving pieces with special movement rules in an attempt to capture, attack, defend, or develop their positions.

What makes Gungi unique is its stacking mechanic. Pieces can be stacked up to 3 high, forming towers. Only the top piece can move, but being higher gives it enhanced movement abilities.

The goal is to capture or checkmate your opponent's Marshal, leaving it trapped with no safe moves. Players can start with the introductory ruleset to get a grasp of the basic rules and gradually increase the complexity by moving on to the beginner, intermediate, and advanced rulesets.
