Players push their luck on the Great Lakes in a pickup and deliver epic. In this one to five player game, players take on the roll of industrial shipping captains racing throughout the Great Lakes to make money, upgrade ships, and protect investments.

During a player's turn, they must decide whether to make progress in their journey or to remain safely in port. Storms run from West to East across the board, enabling some weather predictability. However, the weather changes faster than the boats move, so an uncalculating captain can easily find their boat in the middle of a lake, with a storm beating down upon it.

It is a game of knowing when to take a chance and when to play it safe. As a boat in port makes no money, risks will need to be taken. Lives will need to be chanced.

The game incorporates the traditional pick-up and deliver system, but with a more modern opportunity for strategy. Contracts are determined by a draft, which allows players to chart an advantageous course. Captains may also hedge their bets by purchasing insurance for a voyage, which cuts painfully into profits, but also covers a replacement vessel if it is sunk.

While profit and competition may be the goal, every captain knows that the weather and the illusion of invulnerability are the only true foes.
