Frontier is a high-stakes, tactical card game played with the new American Playing Cards, featuring a 50-card deck divided into five distinct historical categories. The deck is split between the Confederacy, the Union, and the neutral Border States, which serve as wildcards. With each category containing cards numbered 1 through 10, players must navigate a shifting political landscape where alliances are just as important as the numbers on the cards.

The game unfolds over exactly five rounds of escalating tension, where hand capacity scales as the game progresses. Players start with just a single card in Round 1, adding one additional card each round until they reach a full 5-card hand in Round 5. This unique progression forces players to manage their resources carefully, as unused cards are kept between rounds while played or discarded cards are reshuffled into the deck, creating a dynamic environment where card counting and probability are key.

Strategy in Frontier revolves around a betting system and a rigid victory hierarchy where "Length is Supreme." During each round, players have only one chance to set an initial bet, call, raise, or fold. When the round resolves, the winner is determined by the complexity and size of their card play.
