Flysh is a tense push-your-luck card game for 2 to 4 players that puts you in the fins of a flying fish. Your goal is not to race against your kin, but to put as much distance as possible between yourself and the Dorados pursuing you from below. Between these voracious predators and the relentless Frigatebirds in the air, every card you draw is a gamble on your survival. Will you fly too low and be caught? Or will you aim too high, exhausting your endurance reserve before finding safe waters?

JUMP (1x per turn) – Offer a card from your river to another player. If they accept, they immediately score its value and keep it as the first card of their next flight. If they refuse, you keep the card and continue your escape. A psychological exchange where every offer is either a trap or a reprieve.

SWIM – Draw a card and extend your escape trajectory. Beware the threats:

Dorado Burst: Sum of values ≥ 19 → the predator catches you. Turn ends (0 VP).
Frigate Burst: Two visible value-5 cards → a seabird dives on you. Turn ends (0 VP).

The Fisherman (0): If drawn, place it on any card in your river to neutralize it (value becomes 0, ignores bonuses and burst conditions).

DIVE – Stop taking risks, fold your fins, and calculate the distance gained.

SCORING
The game rewards efficient escape, not brute accumulation:
Net Distance = Sum of Values – Number of Cards

Bonuses are added for cohesive formations (pairs/sets of 2, 3, 4), slipstream positioning (Card 1 timing), and completed migrations. The Boobies (6) apply a –2 VP malus if both remain visible at turn's end, their erratic movements disrupting your momentum.

BONE CARDS (ENDURANCE)
Each player starts with 2 lives, represented by their Bone Card. A burst flips your card from ? (2 lives) to ? (1 life). A second burst eliminates you from the migration. The last fish alive wins if all others succumb to exhaustion or predators.
✨ Exceptional Gliding Flight Bonus: Dive with exactly 8 cards to recover 1 life (flip ? back to ?). This bonus can be triggered only once per player per game.
