Based on the multi-tap texting system used by 12-button keypad “brick phones” of (some of) our youth, Fat Thumbs challenges the table to form a word from a string of Key Number cards, while strategically using your Fat Thumb tokens to alter the group text.
Each player on their turn adds a Key Number card (which contains three or four letters; e.g., ABC, DEF, GHI, etc.) to the end of the shared text. All players should always be thinking of valid words that start with one letter on each card in play—just like writing a text message of yesteryear. Can’t think of a word? Play a Fat Thumb to change the string of cards! Or, challenge the player who last played to charge your phone battery to win the game!
