In Express Zirkhaki, much like the original Zirkhaki, players act as diggers trying to dig for treasure and accumulate as much points as they can. The players first will remove the lowers numbered item from the deck and shuffle them and put them on one side as the "discard pile", then shuffle the rest of the items and put them on the other side as the "dig pile". The distance between the dig pile and discard pile is the "dig site".
Then the first player is chosen, and they will turn over the top card from the dig pile onto the dig site. Each item has a special power that then will be implemented. The player then can either turn over more cards, or end their turn and gather the cards in the dig site as their collection. If they turn over more cards, more powerful items can be found, but also if the same item is drawn again, their turn will end immediately and all of the items in the dig site go to the discard pile, and the player will get none of them.
Then the play moves to the player on the left, and goes on until the dig pile is empty. Then each player will count the highest number item they have and add them up for their final score. The player with the highest score is the winner.
The game is designed for 2 to 4 players, but by combining two sets of item cards the game can be played by 5 to 8 people as well. Although, since the item cards are the same as with the original Zirkhaki, the games can combine the item cards to accommodate more players.
