In this semi-cooperative game players take on the roles of the main heroes from the novel and play out the plot of "Dracula". The Count has decided to come to Victorian London. Being a vampire, he has brought numerous crates of Transylvanian dirt with him in which he must rest. To defeat him, the players must track down and destroy all of these boxes, and then they must catch Dracula and put him to a final end.

The crates are initially together in a hidden crypt somewhere in London. Players will use the unique abilities of their characters to gather clues from Renfield in London, or perhaps journey to Transylvania to gather information there. Each location on the board will have cards on it, and players must manipulate those cards to meet a target number in order to successfully investigate a location. Each location on the board offers a unique action which can be augmented with items and privilege cards as the heroes work together towards their goal.

In the meantime, Dracula fights back by spreading location-blocking dread throughout the city and throwing obstacles at the heroes that they must fend off. The heroes can lose immediately if Dracula completes his plans or if the Resolve deck runs dry. But Dracula's most powerful weapon might be the corrupted and influenced players he has recruited to his side.

If the heroes can get to the final chapter, and have succeeded in sanctifying all of his resting places, they will pursue Dracula back to Transylvania. But will they have gathered enough resources by then to catch him? Will his minion help him escape?
