Double Cross is a game for 2 to 3 players, played with the eight-sided die (for 2 players) and with the twelve-sided die (for 3 players).

The players play:

6 times three identical symbols

4 times four identical symbols

4 times five identical symbols

All game boards are played at the same time and all players use the same sheet of paper.

Players take turns rolling the die.

The players first decide who is X, O, and –.

If the player who is X rolls an X, he may place his X randomly in one of the spaces.

If this player rolls an O or –, then he must fill in an O or – somewhere.

If a player rolls XX, OO, or --, then he must place the symbol twice.

If the game is played with three players (using the twelve-sided die), then when someone rolls XX, OO, or -- they must place these symbols next to each other in the same square.

This rule does not apply when the game is played with two players (using the eight-sided die).

The goal of the game is to get 3, 4, or 5 identical symbols in a row.

On a game board where 3, 4, or 5 in a row has been achieved, no more symbols may be filled in.

On a game board where it is no longer possible to score 3, 4, or 5 identical symbols in a row, nothing else may be filled in either.

When all game boards have been played, the points are added up.

The player with the highest number of points is the winner.

Winner of a 3-in-a-row game gets 3 points.
Winner of a 4-in-a-row game gets 4 points.
Winner of a 5-in-a-row game gets 5 points.
