In Domiko, players combine eight wooden tiles to create a single geometric figure inspired by Japanese Kumiko craftsmanship.

Each tile has colored borders of different lengths. Players must connect matching borders, with a connection only being valid when both the color and length match. The goal is to optimize the resulting shape and score points through three different objectives: creating sequences of matching non-red borders along the outside of the figure, creating enclosed spaces called patios, and hiding red borders inside the construction.

All players build simultaneously. When a player finishes their construction, they can take the Speed token to gain a bonus and start a two-minute timer, giving the other players limited time to complete their own figures. Incorrectly connected tiles are removed and can result in a penalty.

At the end of each round, players pass their eight tiles to the player on their left and begin a new construction. After four rounds, the scores are added and the player with the highest total wins.

In the Expert mode, all three scoring objectives are used, with additional bonuses for specific constructions such as monochromatic patios, symmetrical shapes, and evocative figures.

Domiko also includes a solo mode, in which players use eight randomly selected tiles to create the highest-scoring figure they can, without a time limit.

Domiko is a spatial logic and optimization game for 1–6 players, with simultaneous play and tactile wooden components.
